The dryness of the skin can cause (itching) or even wounds and pain, but with proper care can be treated or even prevented. The American Society of Dermatology (ASA) has some helpful tips:
* Do you bathe with warm, not hot, water. Also, avoid the long, hot bubble bath because it dries the skin
* To brush your skin several times a day, with a “rich” moisturizer. Make sure the cream does not contain alcohol.
* Wash with a gentle cleanser and not “hard” or antibacterial
* If the atmosphere in your home is dry, use a humidifier
* Drink plenty of water and avoid alcohol
* Protect your skin from the winter weather with gloves, scarves and hats
* Do not scratch and do not rub your skin
* Avoid clothes that irritate your skin or your cause itching
