diet and fitness myths weight lossThe long-term potential consequences of such diets, the most famous of which is the Atkins diet, remain unknown. Receiving, however, one more calories from protein-rich foods-such as meat, eggs and cheese-not a balanced diet.

These foods also usually contain a lot of saturated fat and cholesterol, two ingredients that increase the risk of coronary heart disease. Moreover, the lack of carbohydrates means reduced intake of fruit and wholemeal products, such as for example white bread, whole grains etc., which can lead to constipation due to lack of fiber. Furthermore, long-term lack carbohydrate consumption (less than 130 grams per day) has been linked by research with increased risk overproduction of uric acid, which is a risk factor for gout (gout) and nephrolithiasis.

2. Renowned celebrities diets cause permanent weight loss

The fad diets are not the best way to permanent weight loss. The promises of guaranteed weight-loss-usually in a short space of time is certainly enticing, but the disadvantages are many.

First, if someone chooses a diet with low calorie meals or with severe restrictions on food groups allowed for, it is not easy to achieve the goal of weight loss, especially when the diet must be followed for a long time. Moreover, many diets exclude whole food groups such as pasta and bread contain carbohydrates, can harm the health, because they deprive the body nutrients. When weight loss is rapid, more than 1.5 pounds a week, it is almost certain that the lost weight will be recovered in a short period immediately after stopping the diet. The quick weight loss also, according to scientific studies, has been associated with increased risk of stone formation in the gall bladder. For particularly deprivation diets, those that provide less than 800 calories a day, it has been shown that long term can lead to heart rhythm abnormalities. The best would be to try to lose weight slowly: losing 0.5 to more than 1 pound a week.

3. Starch thickens

Most people who want to lose weight, tend to exclude from their diet rich in starch foods-such as bread, rice, pasta and potatoes. However, these foods eaten plain (ie without butter and sauces) and in normal amounts, containing little fat and calories. Furthermore, starch is a complex carbohydrate and carbohydrates are a valuable source of energy for the body.

4. Natural products are safe slimming

a slimming product that says it is natural or herbal does not mean it is necessarily safe. To demonstrate the safety of a product required perennial, well-organized clinical trials, which are usually not made. Until recently, for instance, circulating in the West herbal products containing “ephedra”, a substance that caused serious health problems in many people. The substance was banned and products withdrawn from the market. For this reason, you should always choose a product very carefully and be wary on what they promise too much.
